Eco-educational Boards in Tbilisi Botanical Garden

October 10, 2015
Eco-educational boards located at the Children’s playground in the Tbilisi Botanical Garden has been renewed. The boards were installed several years ago with the support of the German Embassy in Tbilisi. Their goal is to raise environmental awareness among young generation, educate about the protection of natural values and learn about processes taking place in the environment.

Over the time, due to the weather and other natural conditions the informational signboards were damaged and their renovation has been made possible with the support of the KfW funded project – “Support programme for Protected Areas in the Caucasus – Georgia”. The project resources are mainly directed towards the development of Algeti, Kazbegi, Kintrishi and Pshav-Khevsureti, Protected Areas, while a small part is allocated for the environmental education and awareness raising purposes. The renovation of the educational signboards was implemented in the frames of the mentioned component and in future several other eco-educational activities are planned to be conducted.
